Speaker Series: D-Day Medic, SSG Waverly Woodson | Presented by Kevin Braafladt

SSG Wavery Woodson was an African American medic with the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, First Army, Cpl. Woodson's heroism during the D-Day landings on June 6, 1944, exemplifies the highest ideals of medical service in the military.

Kevin Braafladt will present Woodson’s story and the efforts to have SSG Woodson's Bronze Star award upgraded. Braafladt is the Historian for the U.S. Army Sustainment Command. As a Reserve Captain, he also serves as the historian for the 1st U.S. Army.
